A Memory of Rock Springs: Florida Natural Spring Terrarium with Live Moss & Vibrant Turquoise Water

As I slowly floated downstream in a clear-bottom kayak, the blue-green water beneath me was so pristine I could watch fish gliding by below. Small alligators appeared on the shores along the way, a deer stood at the edge of the stream, and bald Cypress trees and Palmetto hammocks towered over both banks. The water was cool beneath me, the Florida air was warm and salty, and the entire place felt almost unreal.

That day at Rock Springs in Kelly Park stayed with me. This terrarium is my miniature interpretation of that memory: a ribbon of clear turquoise water winding between moss-covered banks and natural stone, preserving a little piece of the Florida wilderness that I love.

Available in three sizes, each landscape is handcrafted with living moss, natural stone, and translucent turquoise resin water. It arrives fully planted and ready to enjoy.

CARE

• Lightly mist with distilled water every 3–4 weeks
• Place in bright indirect light, a few feet away from a window, or beneath a 6500K LED grow light (available in my shop)
• Avoid direct sunlight, which can quickly overheat the enclosed bowl

Each terrarium is individually designed and planted by hand in my Minnesota studio. The original landscape was inspired by my own visit to Rock Springs at Kelly Park, Florida, one of the places that made me fall in love with Florida’s wild freshwater springs.

ABOUT THE RESIN WATER

The blue-green water is made from translucent tinted resin and is completely solid to the touch. Each water feature is poured by hand, creating subtle variations in color, movement, and pattern.

THE “INVISIBLE” LID

A sleek acrylic lid sits flush against the bowl and is designed to be nearly invisible. It helps retain the humidity living moss needs while allowing the landscape to remain fully visible.

MADE TO ORDER

Your terrarium will closely resemble the examples shown, but every landscape is naturally unique. Moss varieties, stone shapes, resin patterns, and small details will vary. No two Rock Springs terrariums will ever be exactly alike.

Because the moss is alive, the landscape will continue to grow and change over time.

SHIPPING INFORMATION

Each terrarium is handcrafted to order and requires several days to complete before shipping. Orders are carefully secured and double-boxed using protective materials designed to keep the landscape undisturbed during transit.
